Here on the blog my goal is to help musicians like you get the most out of your home recording gear while saving both time and money. Hopefully my posts are helping you do that. Sometimes however you might have a specific question that you’d like answered and I want to do my best to answer those questions here on the blog. Today I have a great question from one of my readers regarding Pro Tools and whether or not one should switch to it from a different recording program. Check out the video and decide for yourself!

Hey Graham. Sonar cannot be resold. Just thought you’d like to edit your video. BTW, I like the other vids.
Hey Paul, thanks for checking out the vids and the site!
He should upgrade to Sonar X1.
Awesome vid. I have been using Logic for a few years, and I love it, but recently had to learn Pro Tools at Production School. It is also great. At the end of the day, it is the work of musicians getting the most out of whatever gear they have that makes the greatest difference…
I only use Logic because I do a TON of midi, and I learned midi in Logic, so I work faster in it. I have a friend who uses his tiny FL Studio rig with some solid VSTs and he makes just as good sounding tracks (some are better) as I make in my Logic rig with Native Instruments Audio Units.
Love your way of teaching. So superior to what I just paid for from fellow in Nashville on line. Your ideas are so “common sense” supported. Your idea about acoustic and electric guitars is great. I use a Parker Fly just because of the reasons you mentioned.
I also use Sonar X1 and although it is great, I have been trying to find a program to replace it since some of the design flaws of Sonar make it harder to do tasks that other software makes so easy. The problem is that those other pieces of software have weaknesses that Sonar has overcome. Therefore based on your thoughts it is better to stick with what you know. Appreciate your videos highly. Thank you
